Key Scripture: Ephesians 2:8-10
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Theological Insight
The Greek word for "handiwork" is poiema, from which we get the English word "poem". Paul is suggesting that our lives, redeemed by grace, become God's artistic masterpiece.
Reflection Questions
- Where in your life are you still trying to "earn" God's favor instead of accepting His grace?
- How does viewing yourself as God's "masterpiece" change your self-perception?
